\u201cPablo Galdo is an excellent musician and a brilliant pianist, with whom I shared the stage. In addition to his pianistic capacity, I highlight his great musical intuition (Martha Argerich, 2020)<\/p>\n

\u201cPablo Galdo is an exceptional pianist of great technique, with the musicality of a real artist, that additionaly has the capacity to communicate to the audience with great facility, which makes him a complete pianist\u201d (Tam\u00e1s v\u00e1s\u00e1ry, 2018)<\/p>\n

Pablo Galdo was born in Ferrol (La Coru\u00f1a). He studied at the “Conservatorio Superior de Vigo”, where he graduated with honours and “Extraordinary Prize”, at the “University of Alcal\u00e1 de Henares”, “Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly Institute of Kecskem\u00e9t”, “F. Liszt Academy of Budapest”, “Mozarteum University of Salzburg”, where he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma, and at the “Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow”. His teachers have included Nicasio Gradaille, Ferenc Rados, Rita Wagner, Andr\u00e1s Kemenes, Imre Rohmann and Elisso Wirssaladze.<\/p>\n

He has also received classes and advice from masters such as Alicia de Larrocha, Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis, Tam\u00e1s Vas\u00e1ry, Dimitri Bashkirov, V\u00e1rjon Denes, Heinz K\u00e4mmerling, Marta Guly\u00e1s, Haewon Song, or Almudena Cano, among others.<\/p>\n

He has received scholarships from the Hungarian Ministry, the Ministry of Asuntos Exteriores, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, the CaixaGalicia Foundation and the AIE Association.<\/p>\n

He has given concerts in more than 40 countries: France, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Iceland, Australia, China, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Greece, Georgia, Russia, Slovenia, Croatia, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Cyprus, Republic of Iran, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Lithuania, Turkey, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and the United States. He has performed with orchestras in Hungary, Germany, Austria and Spain and has been a finalist and prize-winner in several piano competitions.<\/p>\n

He has represented Spain abroad on various occasions, including the celebrations of the inauguration of the “Aula Cervantes of Reykjavik”, performing for the President of Iceland, to celebrate the “Week of the Spanish language” in Slovenia, to celebrate the national holiday of Spain in Hungary, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Spain and Kazakhstan, and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Spain and Russia.<\/p>\n

He performed with 4 hands and 2 pianos with pianists like Martha Argerich, Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis, Stephen Kovacevich, Lilya Zilberstein, Cyprien Katsaris, Tam\u00e1s V\u00e1s\u00e1ry, Jorge Lu\u00eds Prats, Imre Rohmann, Sergio Tempo, Andr\u00e1s Kemenes, with cellist Asier Polo or violist Roc\u00edo G\u00f3mez, or baritone Lu\u00eds Alberto Llaneza, among others.<\/p>\n

He is selected in cycles of young performers and participates in various cycles and festivals such as “Juventudes musicales” “Asociaci\u00f3n Teresa Berganza” (99), “J\u00f3venes talentos de Budapest en el castillo de Buda” “Fundaci\u00f3n Pedro Barri\u00e9 de la Maza”, “Fundaci\u00f3n Juan March”, Izmir International Music Week, J\u00e1rkov International Festival, Costa Rica International Festival, among others.<\/p>\n

He has recorded a DVD for the IRIS production company with works by Alb\u00e9niz, Liszt and Rachmaninoff and, for the MANS production company, a CD with works by Bach, Chopin and Liszt, and another with works by Alb\u00e9niz. He also recorded for Televisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola, Televisi\u00f3n de Galicia and the Hungarian Radio. The Spanish composer Sa\u00fal Chapela has dedicated his piano work “22 variations on two cells” to him.<\/p>\n

He gave master classes at the \u201cTchaikovsky Moscow\u201d Conservatory, the \u201cFrederick Chopin University\u201d Warsaw, the Tbilisi State Conservatory, the \u201cIcelandic Academy of Arts\u201d, the \u201cIstanbul State Conservatory\u201d, the \u201cVilnius Academy of Music and Theatre\u201d, the \u201cNational Academy of Music and Theatre\u201d Estonian Music\u201d, at the ESMAE University in Porto, at the \u201cBaku National Academy\u201d, Sydney Conservatory, at the Baremboim-Said Foundation\u201d of Palestine, at the \u201cBuchmann-Mehta School\u201d of Israel, at the \u201cNational University of Kazakhstan\u201d, \u201cNational University of the Arts in Kharkov\u201d, at the \u201cNational Conservatory of Jordan\u201d, the \u201cLebanon National Conservatory\u201d He has performed at the “Escuela Superior de Neuqu\u00e9n” (Argentina), at the “Conservatory of Verona”, at the “University of Kharkov”, at the “University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki”, at the “University of Yasar” in Izmir, and in several cities in Spain. He has been a guest professor for 7 years at the International Music Academy “Forum Musikae” and recently at the International Piano Festival of Costa Rica. He is also regularly invited to sit on the jury of international piano competitions (Costa Rica, Spain, China, Norway and Lithuania). Among his students there are several winners of national and international piano competitions.<\/p>\n

He is the artistic director of the Galician Classical Music Association and founder and artistic director of the International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Vigo”. He is also the founder of the “Online Piano Masterclass”, a platform that offers students from all over the world the opportunity to take online lessons with some of the best piano teachers in the world. He was awarded the “Premio Gregorio Baudot de la M\u00fasica”, the Gold Badge of his hometown, “Gallego del a\u00f1o 2020”, and has been awarded the silver medal at the Global Music Awards in 2017 and 2018, in 2 different categories (Best instrumentalist and classical pianist).<\/p>\n
